Leica BLK Showroom

Project Overview

Originally, Leica’s e-commerce and product marketing for all handheld laser scanner lines — including BLK, DISTO, and Lino — lived under a single site. As the BLK brand matured, it was given its own dedicated showroom experience.

I led the design of this new web presence: a sleek, modern site built specifically to house the full BLK lineup. The new showroom not only gave the products visual breathing room but also improved performance thanks to its headless architecture, developed in partnership with Oomph.

Design Approach

The goal for the showroom was to create a clean, elevated experience that matched the premium nature of the BLK product line. I developed a modular system of layouts that supported deep product detail while keeping navigation simple and responsive across devices.

Much of the visual language had been prototyped earlier in BLK2021.com, a micro-marketing site I designed and built in 2021 to launch BLK2FLY and BLK ARC. When the new showroom launched, we migrated and rebuilt that content into the permanent structure.

Working in close collaboration with Oomph, the site was developed using a headless architecture — allowing for ultra-fast page loads via static HTML while retaining a dynamic design system.

Outcome

The BLK showroom launched as a permanent destination for product storytelling, marketing campaigns, and e-commerce. It significantly improved load speed, clarity, and brand separation, while establishing a strong foundation for future product additions and content updates.
